August 2, 2010 One of the largest skydiver ‘boogies’ will be once again held in Fort Dodge on Labor Day weekend, September, 3-6th. For 30 years, the skies of Fort Dodge have been filled with beautiful images as the annual Couch Freak Boogie takes place at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport. Twist & Shout has enjoyed bringing you this story, which draws more than 700 skydivers from all over the country. We had a great chat with Rhonda Chambers, the Director of Aviation about what a great event this is for the skydivers- and for Fort Dodge. » Full Story

January 28, 2010 I went looking for a climbing wall last week and thought it was the beginning of a new life of fitness and exercise. I hadn’t gone climbing since college, but when I found out the south side Des Moines YMCA not only had a climbing wall but it was indoors (away from what’s turning out to be a motivation killing Iowa winter) I was even more eager. This poker run was incepted as a motorcycle ride to raise money but co-chair, Shirley Hanna (along with co-chairs Marilyn Meier, and Lynda Lowery and committee members Dawn Wesley, Tammy O Brien, Sharon Rosalez, Deb Schuh and Dawn Powell), says anyone can participate. “We would like to see more car loads of friends join us!” » Full Story

December 30, 2009 I believe magic exists simply because I’ve never seen evidence to make me believe that it doesn’t. I’ve never seen anyone cast a spell or bend a spoon with their mind or shoot lightning out of their fingertips, but I do my best to believe that anything is possible. » Full Story

August 2, 2010 “The Twilight Saga” is back with another big block buster film in ‘Eclipse’, which really does deliver. The Stephenie Meyer’s novels that rocked the world have been nothing short of a phenomenon. They have captured readers of all ages, and have had midnight showings sold out weeks before hand. In fact, I had several friends that waited in line for hours to see the opening of Eclipse. I waited for the hype to die down before venturing out and even a week after the opening it was still a full house. » Full Story
