The idea for Kids’ Art Day grew out of a desire to combine two good ideas into one, and at the same time create an arts event the whole community could look forward to. The Blanden’s 75th Anniversary Celebration held in the summer of 2007 was one source of inspiration. The other is Youth Art Month, which is traditionally honored in March.
The summer of 2009, we introduced Kids’ Art Day for the first time on the last Saturday of June. Choosing this date allowed us to have an outdoor arts activities day for children and citizens of all ages during warm weather under big tents on the lawn.
Kids’ Art Day is our way of including the whole community for this free day of fun and activities. It’s also a great time to stop inside the museum and see the current exhibits. Kids’ Art Day is sponsored by the Blanden Charitable Foundation, the Catherine Vincent Deardorf Charitable Foundation, and C & S Products Co., Inc.
This Event is Free and Open to the Public. Come and be a part of the fun! Kids’ Art Day, 2010 is Saturday, June 26th, 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
