Effective Thursday, June 10 Delta will begin offering direct flights from Fort Dodge Regional Airport to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, with convenient connections to cities worldwide.  This change eliminates the current stop in Mason City before continuing on to Minneapolis-St. Paul.  In addition to non-stop flights, Delta is also making adjustments to the departure and arrival times. The first flight of the day will depart at 7:10 a.m. instead of 5:00 am and the last flight will arrive at 8:43 p.m. instead of 11:16 p.m.

“These are significant and positive improvements to the air service Delta provides to Fort Dodge Regional Airport,” said Rhonda Chambers, Director of the Fort Dodge Regional Airport.  “Delta has made these changes in response to the needs of our community and we are excited to have the opportunity to offer air service options that our region will choose to use.”

“Our customers in Fort Dodge will benefit greatly from Delta’s enhanced service to our hub in Minneapolis-St. Paul, which offers convenient connections to cities across the globe,” said Karen Zachary, Delta’s general manager of market planning. “And our improved schedule provides more convenient departure and arrival times for Fort Dodge travelers.”

In tandem with Delta schedule enhancements, the main terminal building is currently in the middle of a major renovation project that will be completed when the new service begins.  It’s been 28 years since this type of renovation has taken place in the main terminal area.  The project includes new ticket counters with enhancements including built-in kiosk for convenient, fast check-in before Delta flights.  Delta provided technical assistance to the architects designing the ticket counters.

“Delta has been a supportive and professional partner, providing us with guidance and support to make the most out of our terminal renovation project,” Chambers said.  “We encourage everyone to support this new service by remembering to check Fort Dodge first when you plan to fly.  You can easily check fares and information by visiting Delta.com.”
